The COMPUTER BASED PROJECTS class is housed in both the Professional and Design Academies and is a required course for all Freshman. The focus of the class is on learning both computer formats: MAC and WINDOWS. This course is designed to help students complete their projects in other classes by having a working knowledge of Microsoft Office for both MAC and WINDOWS. The emphasis in the Design Academy is on the MAC side and WINDOWS on for the Professional Academy.
MARKETING is housed in the HOSPITALITY/TRAVEL AND TOURISM program area in the Professional Academy, although students in all program areas are encouraged to take the class. The courses in MARKETING will be available to all program areas beginning next school year. All students taking TRAVEL AND TOURISM are required to take MARKETING and it is the goal to increase the choices within MARKETING to include ADVANCED MARKETING, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, and INTERNATIONAL MARKETING. All students in MARKETING are required to belong to DECA as DECA is co-curricular to the class. DECA is an Association of Marketing Students and is open to all students in all program areas. Students participating in DECA are involved in four activity areas: CIVIC CONSCIOUSNESS, VOCATIONAL UNDERSTANDING, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, and SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
